Falconi Wins Two Medals in the South American Under-23 Championship

LIMA, PERU – Emi Falconi of the Drexel women's squash team won the gold medal for the Women's Doubles South American Under-23 Championship on Thursday, in Peru.
Falconi, the junior from Riobamba, Ecuador, and teammate Rafaela García defeated Chile's Amalia Carranza and Magdalena Solé 11-4 and 11-3 in the first round.
In the second round, the duo faced Joaquina Llanos and Luana León of Peru, winning 11-6 and 11-5.
In the third round, they topped Brazil's Bruna Hakim and Giulia Colleoni, 11-1 and 11-4.
She also won the bronze medal for women's individuals in the tournament.
For Drexel this past season, Falconi went 11-5 in the second through fourth positions, finishing the year on a six-match winning streak.
