Brown and Kennedy Earn IRCA All-American Honors

PHILADELPHIA — Kyle Brown of the Drexel men's rowing team has been named a Second Team Empacher-IRCA All-American, as announced by the Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association on Thursday. The Sydney, Australia native is the third All-American in program history. Additionally, Matthew Kennedy received an honorable mention.
Brown and Kennedy were both members of the Varsity 8+ team who took gold at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta this season. The pair helped the Dragons defeat defending champion Temple to capture gold, securing the men's team title for the fifth consecutive season and the overall team championship for the third straight year. Drexel claimed as high as 16th in the national polls, securing wins over nationally ranked opponents Navy, Georgetown, Holy Cross and Columbia in dual action.
