Men’s Rowing Adds Three-Time National Champion Ethan Walsh to Staff

PHILADELPHIA — Men's rowing head coach Matt Weaver announced the addition of three-time National Champion Ethan Walsh to the staff on Tuesday. Walsh joins the Dragons after a decorated career at the University of Washington.
"We are excited to add Ethan to the staff for the 2026-27 season," said Weaver. "He brings firsthand experience from one of the best rowing environments in the country and knows the daily standard required to compete at the highest level. He also has a deep understanding of the rowing community in Philadelphia, and embodies the values of the city and our program. We're looking forward to him bringing that experience and energy as we continue to build towards our goals at Drexel."
A Philadelphia native and graduate of Roman Catholic High School, Walsh competed for the Huskies from 2023-26. As a sophomore, he raced in the five seat of Washington's Third Varsity Eight that captured both the Pac-12 Championship and the 2024 IRA National Championship. The following season, Walsh helped Washington's Varsity Four win the MPSF Championship before racing in the three seat of the crew that captured the 2025 IRA National Championship.
As a senior, Walsh moved into Washington's Second Varsity Eight, helping the Huskies earn victories over California, Harvard and Stanford. The team also won the Erickson Cascade Cup at the Windermere Cup and captured gold at the MPSF Championships. He concluded his collegiate career in the seven seat of Washington's Second Varsity Eight that earned the silver medal at the IRA National Championship Regatta. Additionally, Walsh was named to the MPSF All-Academic Team and earned Spring Big Ten All-Academic honors during his senior season.

Before arriving at Drexel, Walsh began his coaching career as an assistant boys rowing coach at Pocock Rowing Center during the summer of 2026. Walsh received his bachelor's degree in Real Estate from Washington in 2026.
