Women's Tennis Concludes Penn Invitational Play

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's tennis team wrapped up the Penn Invitational on Sunday.
In doubles play against Penn, Isabella De Micco Padula and Anastasia Kavounov fell to Lara Stojanovski and Emma Tomova, 6-4. Alyna Sogomonyan and Bia Ibrahim were defeated by Joleen Saw and Peien Deng, 6-1. Olivia Chowgule and Ely Laure A-Sou fell to Liza Tkachenko and Athina Schlepphorst, 6-0.
In singles play versus the Quakers, Padula was defeated by Saw, 6-4 and 6-1. Kavounov won the first set 6-3 before dropping the next two sets to Deng, 6-3 and 1-0 (9). Sogomonyan fell to Cookie Jarvis-Tredgett, 6-4 and 7-5. Ibrahim was defeated by Tomova 6-0 and 6-1. Chowgule fell to Tkachenko 6-1 and 6-0. Lidia Ratobylskaya was topped by Varsha Vedula, 6-2 and 6-0.
The Dragons will return to the court on October 2 to participate in the Villanova Invitational.
