Walton was a two-time Philadelphia Inquirer Academic Performer of the Year, earning the recognition in 2005 and 2006. The Sprint City, Pa. native also garnered academic honors from the NFHCA as she was included on the organization's All-Academic Team in each of her four years. The team's Helen Callas Reiner MVP in 2003, Walton earned a spot on the All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team in 2003 and followed up with an inclusion on the all-region second team in 2004. Walton earned Second Team All-CAA recognition in 2002 and 2004. She was an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II First Teamer in 2004 and an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Third Team honoree in 2005.
