Drexel University Athletics
Drexel Athletics “Notification of Transfer” Policy
When a student-athlete triggers “Notification of Transfer,” the student-athlete relinquishes:- their status as a student-athlete and is no longer a member of the team;
- athletic aid for the following academic year; and
- athletic aid at the end of the current term for the remainder of the academic year.
Issued equipment/gear must be surrendered within two business days of the student-athlete’s entry in the national transfer database. If the equipment/gear is not returned during that timeframe, the student-athlete will be placed on athletic hold.
A Student-Athlete initiates the “Notification of Transfer” process via the “Notification of Transfer” workflow in ARMS. When the official notification has been submitted, Drexel has two business days to enter the student- athlete’s information into the national transfer database.
Written Notification: Emailing the compliance staff, coaching staff or any other department member does not signify written notification per this policy. The written notification of transfer process must be completed via ARMS workflow in order to be placed on the national transfer database.
The granting of the one-time transfer waiver will be decided after the student-athlete meets (in-person or teleconference) with their coach and a member of the athletic administration (Sport Administrator, Sport Liaison, Compliance Team, or Senior Woman Administrator).
