Sanchez was a four-year letterwinner at Drexel from 2003-2006. The Dragons advanced to three National Invitation Tournaments during that stretch and to the Colonial Athletic Association championship game in 2005. Sanchez holds the Drexel CAA single-game record by shooting .857 (6-for-7) in the win against Hofstra. As a senior, Sanchez’ team advanced to the NIT Season Tip-Off in New York, where the Dragons upset bids against No. 1 Duke and No. 16 UCLA came up just short. He graduated with a degree in sport management.
After graduation, Sanchez played professionally in Puerto Rico, Argentina and Chile. His last season playing was in 2011-12, when he played in Argentina. The Camden, N.J. native attended Bishop Eustace High School.
