Cory Robertson begins his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Dragons after completing a successful playing career at Drexel. Robertson, who earned both his undergraduate (2010) and master’s (2012) degrees from Drexel, currently serves as a volunteer assistant coach.
For the past two seasons, Robertson has been a graduate assistant under head coach Doug Hess, working primarily with the Dragons’ goalkeepers. Robertson worked with 2011 Third Team All-CAA keeper Pentti Pussinen, guiding the Dragons’ keeper as he made his national team for Finland. Also during his time as a GA, Robertson worked with Ray Goon and the Drexel women’s goalkeepers, including Eve Badana who earned Second Team All-CAA recognition in 2011 and also started for her national team.
Prior to joining the staff as a graduate assistant, Robertson served as an undergraduate assistant in 2009 under then-head coach Lew Meehl, when he was also tasked with mentoring the Dragons’ goalkeepers.
A keeper himself while playing for the Dragons, Robertson put together a 21-20-6 mark over four seasons with the Dragons, earning 17 shutouts and putting together an impressive 1.26 goals against average for his career. Robertson was sixth in the nation as a junior in goals against average, allowing just 0.537 goals per game. He was also 11th in save percentage that year, sporting a .849 mark. A Philadelphia Soccer Seven All-Star as a junior, Robertson ranks eighth all-time in saves at Drexel with 209. He was a Third Team All-CAA selection his junior season as the Dragons earned their first CAA Tournament berth as the regular season league co-champions.
