Christiana Ogunsami enters her fourth year as an assistant on Ray Goon's coaching staff in 2023. The Drexel alumna and former player oversees the team’s corps of goalkeepers.
During the 2021 season, Drexel posted a scoreless streak of 344:35, the sixth longest such stretch in program history. As a part of the span, Miyuki Schoyen was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 5, becoming just the third Dragon to win DPOTW honors.
Ogunsami was Drexel's starting goalkeeper in 2016 and 2017 and left a lasting mark on the program’s record book. She shares the single-season record for shutouts with 10 in 2016 and ranks second in career shutouts (18) and eighth in career saves (198).
The Cherry Hill, N.J. native enjoyed her finest season in University City in 2016. She led the CAA in goals against average (0.91), save percentage (.858) and shutouts (10) en route to Co-Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-CAA recognition. Ogunsami followed with another superb season in 2017 and was once again named First Team All-CAA.
Ogunsami started her collegiate playing career at Vanderbilt, where she played from 2014 to 2015. She led the SEC in saves as a freshman with 113, the second-most in a season for the Commodores, and matched the program record with 15 stops in a single game. As a sophomore, she ranked second in the conference in saves and save percentage.
Ogunsami graduated from Drexel in 2018 with a degree in psychology and has worked as a coach for The Keeper Institute and at her former high school, Cherry Hill West. At the Keeper Institute, she serves as a technical goalkeeper coach and a mental performance expert. She is working towards a doctorate in psychology from West Chester.
