Brendan Armstrong was hired as Drexel's Equipment Manager in July 2017.
Prior to arriving at Drexel, he spent seven years at La Salle, the final three of which as Director of Campus Recreation. Armstrong previously served as the department's Coordinator of Athletic Services for four years. As director, Armstrong oversaw the operation of the IBC Fitness Center, intramurals, fitness and club sports program, as well as serving on the University's Health Advisory Committee and athletic department senior staff.
Armstrong has previously worked at Temple, where he was responsible for the daily equipment set-up at practices, as well as both home and away game-day set-up. As an active supporter of the university's community services initiatives, he enjoyed a strong relationship with the coaches and operations staff. Also at Temple, Brendan worked the Eagle Bank Bowl in December of 2009, the first bowl game for the Owls since the 1979 season.
Prior to his time at Temple, Armstrong spent nine years with the Philadelphia Eagles working as an assistant to the equipment manager. During his time with the Eagles, Armstrong worked three NFC Championship games and Super Bowl XXXIX, the first Super Bowl appearance for the Eagles franchise since 1980.
Armstrong completed his Masters of Science in sport and recreation management in 2010 after earning his undergraduate degree from Temple in 2008. Armstrong earned his second post-graduate degree in December of 2013, earning a Master's of Arts in education from La Salle. He also holds a graduate certificate in theology from La Salle.
The Philadelphia native is also a member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA)
