Lina Neilson joined Drexel Athletics in September of 2026 as an ACHIEVE Center graduate assistant.
Prior to joining Drexel, Nielsen served as a research assistant in the Speech Language and Brain Laboratory at Temple University. In that role, she analyzed data from speech therapy sessions for children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech.
The Mount Laurel, N.J., native was a four-year member of the field hockey team at Temple. Neilson appeared in 75 games in her career, totaling eight points. She was a three-time Big East All-Academic honoree and a four-time NFHCA National Academic Squad member. Neilson also earned NFHCA Scholar Distinction four times, posting a GPA of 3.9 or higher each season. She also named a Temple Trustee 10 twice, earning a top-ten GPA of all student-athletes at Temple University.
While a member of the Owls, Nielsen served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as an executive board member and was a member of the Stanley Merves Leadership Academy.
Nielsen received her bachelor's degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Science from Temple University in 2026. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Drexel University.
