Dragons Take Two of Three Matches at Lock Haven Duals

Lock Haven, Pa. - Drexel wrestling earned a pair of wins while dropping one match at the 2007 Lock Haven Duals. The Dragons dropped their opening match to Kent State, 29-12, before triumphing over Clarion, 22-16, and host Lock Haven, 20-16. Steve Mytych, Ryan Hluschak and Billy Haydt all registered three wins on the day as Drexel moved to 5-2 on the season.
The Dragons won four of the 10 matches against Kent State all by decision. Mytych triumphed 11-6 over Nic Bedelyon at 125 pounds while Dan Konno earned a 7-5 win over Jake Kyle. Hluschak topped Sill Bostelman, 7-4 and Billy Haydt defeated John Pycraft, 10-3. The Golden Flashes won by fall in matches at 133, 197 and 285 pounds en route to the win.
Against Clarion, the Dragons took six matches led by Haydt's win by fall over David Cox at 6:06. Mytych added a bonus point to his win with his 14-5 major decision victory over Jay Ivanco. Scott Hunter, Justin Wieller, kyle Frey and Hluschak also won for the Dragons in the 22-15 victory.
The Dragons wrapped up the day with a 20-16 victory over Lock Haven as several Dragons moved up in weight classes for the match. Hunter and Wieller moved from 174 and 184 pounds to 184 and 197 pounds respectively and were able to earn one-point victories. Hluschak and Mytych wrapped up their perfect day with major decision victories.
