Madkour and Jevnick Each Win Two Events in Delaware Dual Meet

Newark, Del. - Sherif Madkour won the 200 breaststroke and the 400 IM and Ian Jevnick swept both boards in a Colonial Athletic Association meet at rival Delaware. The Blue Hens won the dual, 180-114. Adrian Sabovici also recorded a victory as he won the 1000 free and placed second in the 500 free.
Madkour won the 200 breast by a stunning margin as the junior finished at 2:06.00 with second-place Dominic Pavlik touching the wall 3.85 seconds later. He nearly swept the breast events, though he finished third,his time was just 0.06 seconds behind first-place Ross Buckwalter. Madkour did pick up his second triumph of the day as he took the 400 IM by more than three seconds with a time of 4:08.64. Teammate T.J. Southmayd took second place as he touched the wall in 4:12.01. Sabovici continued his big senior season with victory in the 1000 free with a time of 9:46.44 to defeat Matthew Wehrman by 1.70 seconds. He claimed second place in the 500 free with a finish of 4:47.63.
Jevnick, the current CAA Diver of the Week, continued his success with victory on both boards. Jevnick took the 1-meter by a large margin as he totaled 286.35 with teammate Stephen Cal placing second with a score of 232.80. while In the 3-meter Jevnick faced tough competiton from the Blue Hens as the host school had three divers score more than 229 points but Jevnick's total of 302.40 took first place. Cal also topped all Delaware divers as he claimed second with a score of 274.20.
Drexel returns to action on Tuesday as the Dragons host Rider in a non-conference meet at Drexel Pool.
