Drexel Splits Matches at Bucknell Duals

Lewisburg, Pa. – Drexel split dual matches with an 18-17 win over Princeton and a 34-9 loss to Bucknell to close out the 2010 calendar year as part of the Bison Duals.
The Dragons took six of 10 bouts against Princeton in the open event to edge the Tigers by one team point. The dual went back and forth as Frank Cimato started things off with a 7-5 decision over Anthony Comunale at 133 pounds before the Tigers earned their second win at 141. Austin Sommer picked up another win for the Dragons at 149 pounds as he defeated Brandon Rolnick 4-2. Drexel finally gained momentum when at 165 pounds and 174 pounds Joe Booth and Justin Wieller picked up shutout victories, 6-0 and 4-0 respectively over their opponents. Drexel finally earned the team win in the last two match-ups as Brandon Palik, 197 pounds, and Jack Callender, heavy weight, earned tightly fought decision 3-2 and 2-1 respectively.
Drexel dropped their second dual against the host Bisons 34-9 while only two Dragons picked up their second wins on the day. Cimato won again this time by forfeit at 133 pounds while Jack Callender picked up his fifth win on the season at 184 pounds.
The split moves Drexel to 4-7 on the season. The Dragons return to action in 2011 when they travel to Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh Dauls that will match them against Pittsburgh and Northwestern.
