Dragons go 1-2 at Pittsburgh Duals

Drexel lost to No. 20 Pittsburgh, 41-3, and Northwestern, 45-3, while taking down Davidson, 26-21 at the Pittsburgh Duals. Senior Justin Wieller and redshirt freshman Brandon Palik lead the Dragons with two wins each.
Palik took down Pittsburgh's Phil Sorrentino in a decisive 9-3 victory to give the Dragons their only team points of the match. Palik then earned a win by forfeit during the Davidson match to give Drexel its fifth straight individual win.
Senior Justin Wieller earned his seventh and eight overall wins including his first bonus point bout of the year with a 12-4 major decision over Davidson's Scott Patrick. Wieller also picked up Drexel's only team points of the match against Northwestern with a 4-1 decision over Robert Kellogg.
Junior Shawn Fausey showed well earning his first win by fall on the season when he pinned Davidson's Ike Crews in just 2:52.
Drexel moves to 5-9 on the season with action picking up with a trip to Fairfax, Va. where it will face conference foe George Mason on January 13, before competing in the CAA Duals January 15.
