Dragons Look for Conference Titles, NCAA Berths at CAA Wrestling Championships

Lawrenceville, N.J. - Drexel wrestling will travel to the campus of Rider University for the 2010 Colonial Athletic Association Championships. Berths in the NCAA Championship will be at stake as well as conference titles. The Dragons are looking for the their first individual conference champion since Chris Cowan won the heavyweight title in 2005.
Senior Steve Mytych will be leading the Dragons into the Championships looking for his first career conference title. He has earned his way to the NCAA Championships in each of his first three seasons but will look to nail down his first CAA title at 133 pounds as the top seed. Other title hopefuls will be Michael Gomez at 125 pounds, Shane Fenningham at 141 pounds, Brett McCurdy at 149 pounds, Joe Booth at 157 pounds, Alex Rinaldi at 165 pounds, Dave Woodall at 174 pounds, Justin Wieller at 184 pounds, Jack Callendar at 197 and Kyle Frey at heavyweight.
The quarterfinals begin Friday at 1:00 pm. The consolations are at 4:00 pm and the semifinals begin at 7:00 pm. On Saturday the second round of consolations begin at 10:00 am and the consolations and finals begin at 1:00 pm.
