Philadelphia - Drexel battled it out to the very end, but eventually fell to Delaware 4-3 in the Dragons' final home match of the season. Gozde Unkaya and Sonja Stosic won at singles for the Dragons and Drexel took two of three doubles matches thanks to a marathon 8-7 (7-5) victory by Elise Leizerovich and Melissa Bohm at third doubles.
In her final match as a Dragon, senior Zineb Hilali teamed up with Stosic to trounce Elena Berry and Montse Ripall 8-2 at first doubles.
Stosic gutted out the match of the day for a three-set victory over Ripall at third singles. She bookended a pair of 6-3 wins around a second set that wouldn't end. She fell to Ripall 7-6 in the set after giving up five match points in a 14-12 tiebreaker. Fortunately she ralled for a 6-3 win to close out the match.
Unkaya made quick work of Elena Berry in straight sets 6-0, 6-2 to give her team its first point of the day.
The Dragons head into the CAA Tournament next week with an 8-6 overall record and a 2-3 mark in conference matches.
