Philadelphia – The Drexel Dragon swimmers and divers took on UMBC and Howard after a few weeks of intense training. The men's and women's diving team had a victorious day, capturing first place in every event. The swimming team compiled five top finishes including three first-place finishes by the women.

Drexel ended the day with new individual records. Junior Devina Tyagi finished with a time of 55.14 in the women's 100 yard freestyle. Senior Matthew Tannenbaum registered a time of 21.65 in the men's 50 yard freestyle. Freshman Aaron Kaminski scored 5:17.06 in the men's 500 yard freestyle.

The women's swimming team captured three first place finishes. Sophomore Lauren Faykes finished first in the 100 yard butterfly event with a time of 59.63. Freshman Jenna Seitz was the top finisher with a time of 2:15.38 in the 200 yard IM. Lauren Faykes, Devina Tyagi, Jessica Csakai, and Maria Coman contributed to the first place victory in the women's 400 yard free style relay.

The men's swimming team had two top finishes. Freshman Sean Kirwin placed first in the men's 200 yard IM with a score of 1:59.43. Matthew Tannenbaum, Jesse McGrath, Alex Bagshaw, and Armagan Yavuz came in first place in the men's 400 yard freestyle relay.

Drexel's Megan Halicek and Senior Ian Jevnick recorded first place finishes in both the 3-meter and 1-meter events.

Come celebrate this year's senior class next weekend. The Dragons will face a long-time rival Delaware at the Drexel Pool on Sat. January 15th at noon on Senior Day.
