Philadelphia – The Drexel men's and women's diving teams will return to action against Navy on Friday, Feb. 11 at 6:00 p.m. at Lejeune Hall. The meet marks the last regular season competition.
Drexel's Ian Jevnick continues to dominate on the boards. The senior standout was named the Colonial Athletic Association's co-Diver of the Week for the second consecutive week, and has now logged his fourth league Diver of the Week honor this season. Jevnick also broke the pool record of 361 points against Delaware on Jan. 15.
Stephen Cal has had many noteworthy performances, including a second place finish behind Jevnick in the 1-meter event against Army and Delaware. Teammate Megan Halicek also placed first in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events throughout the Dragon's home stretch against opponents UMBC, Howard, Delaware, and Army.
The Navy Midshipmen have had success on the boards this season. Senior Olaf Olson finished first in the 3-meter event against latest opponents Princeton and Columbia. Freshmen teammate Hayden Jones also captured first place finishes against Columbia and Yale in the 1-meter event. Teammate Jordyn Nicholl recorded the top score in the 1-meter and 3-meter event against Army for the women's team.
Last season, Halicek placed first in the women's 1-meter event and 3-meter events against the Mids. Cal placed second in the men's 1-meter event and recorded a third place finish in the 3-meter event.
The Dragons will use this meet to prepare for the NCAA Diving Zone Championship, which will be hosted by Navy in March.
