Men's Tennis Challenges City Rival Saint Joseph's on Friday Evening

Philadelphia - After a solid victory over Morgan State last weekend the Dragons will return to the courts on Friday to take on the Saint Joseph's Hawks. Saint Joseph's is 4-11 on the season, but the Hawks have won three of their last five matches, including wins over Fordham, La Salle and Fairfield. The Dragons are 5-3 on the season and have won three straight entering Friday's match. The venue for the contest has been moved to Upper Dublin Racket Club and the start time is now set for 7:00 p.m.
Manu Bajpai has won four straight matches at second singles this season without a loss. He is 9-2 overall on the year. His doubles partner Nikoloz Kurdadze leads the team with a 12-5 mark at first singles for the Dragons. Together they are 12-3 on the season and 5-1 in dual match play at first doubles.
Alex Veronis is the Hawks' top singles player this season. He is joined at the top of the lineup by Paul Ganey and Thomas Gates. Peter Cognetti and Jeff Kessler anchor the Hawks' doubles lineup.
