Men's Basketball Opens CAA Tournament Friday Afternoon Against Towson

The Drexel men's basketball team begins its quest for a Colonial Athletic Association title on Friday afternoon in Richmond, Va. The Dragons, the fifth-seed in tournament, face Towson at 2:30 in the Richmond Coliseum. Drexel begins play with a 20-9 record.
The Dragons won their 20th game in the regular season finale against Towson (4-25) in Maryland. Derrick Thomas led the way with 19 points as the team reached the 20-win mark for the second time in the last five seasons. Chris Fouch, a Third Team All-CAA pick, leasd the team with 14.7 points per game. Samme Givens, a Second Team All-CAA selection, averages 11.8 points and 10 rebounds per game.
The winner of Friday's game advances to the quarterfinals on Saturday against third-seed VCU. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday as well. George Mason is the top seed in the tournament, followed by Old Dominion and Hofstra.
