Drexel's Callender to Represent Dragons in Finals of CAA Tournament

Lawrenceville, N.J. – Seven Drexel wrestlers will advance into the second day of competition with the chance to place at the CAA Championship tournament hosted this year by Rider University.
Michael Gomez, 125 pounds, will wrestle Rider's Chuck Zeisloft in the second round of consolations while Frank Cimato, 133 pounds, will take on Dan Riggi from Binghamton. Cimato went 1-1 on opening day with an impressive 9-7 decision over Rider's Jimmy Kirchner.
Fellow sophomore Josh Yurasits also split matches as he lost to Old Dominions' Brennan Brumley before defeating Boston's Jordan Frease in a 11-7 decision to move on in the 141 pound consolation bracket. Yurasits will match up with Aaron Nestor of Rider in tomorrow's consolation round.
Joe Booth, 165 pounds, was the third Dragon to earn a win on the day first defeating Aaron Keeton of George Mason 3-1 then falling to Justin Lister of Binghamton. Booth will wrestle in the consolation round tomorrow against Dan Rivera of Old Dominion.
Senior Justin Wieller, 174 pounds, earned a bye in the first found of consolations tomorrow where he will take on Rob Morrison from Rider while redshirt freshman Brandon Palik also moves to the consolation round where he will face Greg Scott from George Mason at 197 pounds.
Sophomore heavy weight Jack Callender earned Drexel's only berth into the final round at a shot to claim the CAA title with an 8-6 decision over Binhamton's Cody Reed after a first round bye. Callender was seeded second coming into the tournament and earned Drexel's fourth win on the day.
