Drexel Closes out CAA Championships

Callender went 1-1 in the tournament in his second-place run with an exciting 8-6 decision over Binghamton's Cody Reed before dropping an 11-5 decision to one-seed Paul Snyder of Hofstra. Palik picked up 1-2 record over the weekend after a first round bye. Palik lost a 9-3 decision before earning his team-leading sixth win by fall when he pinned George Mason's Greg Scott in the second round of consolations. Palik then used a dominating 8-3 decision over Hofstra's Matt Loew for the third-place finish.
Booth, Yurasits and Cimato each went 2-2 in the tournament at 165, 141 and 133 pounds respectively. Booth picked up a first-round win along with a win in the second round of consolations on his way to the fourth place finish while Yurasits picked up two wins in the consolation bracket. Cimato earned a first-round upset over fourth-seed Jimmy Kirchner of Rider in a 9-7 decision before falling to one-seed Lou Ruggirello of Hofstra.
The Dragons finished the season 7-16 overall and 1-5 in CAA action. National seeding for the Division I NCAA Tournament, to take place in Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center March 17-19, will be released soon. Check back to see who will represent the Dragons.
