PHILADELPHIA - Four Dragons made the semifinals of their flights at the Saint Joseph's Invitational over the weekend as the Drexel men's tennis team opened its fall season with a strong showing at the rain-shortened event.

In the quarterfinals, Frick took on Roman Cacha from Army and snared a 6-4, 6-3 triumph. Frick was eventually defeated in the semifinals by Taylor Hairston of Temple, 7-5, 6-1.
Brian Nguyen, a senior from Galloway, N.J., also started the tournament by facing an opponent from Hofstra. He dropped the first set against Ari Richman 7-6 (6) before rebounding with a 6-2 decision and a hard-fought 10-7 tiebreak victory.
In the second round, Nguyen defeated La Salle's Trevor Donovan, 6-2, 6-4. Then facing Delaware's Ryan Kent, Nguyen took a 6-4 triumph in the first set before blanking Kent for a 6-0 decision in the second. Nguyen was knocked out by Mansur Gishkaev of Temple in the semifinals, 6-1, 6-2.
Daniel Hansen earned a bye through the first round of his flight, and opened with a 6-2, 6-3 defeat of Army's Joshua Cook. He then knocked out Saint Joseph's Jason Sisti with a 7-5, 6-4 decision to reach the semifinals. In the same flight, Paul Stauskas opened by knocking out Andrew Morris of Lafayette, 7-6 (3), 4-6, 12-10 in a grueling match. He came back to topple Devin Bostick of Saint Joseph's 6-4, 6-4, but fell to Villanova's Andrew Adler in the semifinal, 6-2, 6-1.
