Dragons Win Streak Snapped at Georgia State, 58-44

Atlanta, Ga. – Drexel's six game winning streak came to an end on Monday night as Georgia State defeated the Dragons, 58-44. The Panthers were stayed undefeated at home on the way to their 10th straight win. Chris Fouch led the Dragons with 18 points.
The Drexel (85, 0-2) offense couldn't get on track all night as it was bothered by Georgia State's aggressive defense. The Dragons committed an uncharacteristic 25 turnovers in the game. Those turnovers led to 23 Panthers' points.
The two teams came into the game ranked one and two in defense and in the first half showed why. Georgia State (10-3, 2-0) forced 13 Drexel turnovers and led after 20 minutes, 26-18. The Dragons shot just 25 percent from the first half and committed a few costly turnovers towards the end of the half as the Panthers extended the lead. Georgia State was 10-for-10 from the line in the first half, the last six coming after fouls committed right after Drexel miscues. The Drexel defense didn't play poorly, as the Panthers made just 8-for-23 from the floor. Drexel owned the boards in the early going. The team had nine offensive boards but could manage just four second half points.
Fouch scored 18 points, 11 of them in the second half. Samme Givens grabbed 11 rebounds and moved into fourth place on the all-time list at the school, passing Mike Kouser. He also moved into 14th all-time in the Colonial Athletic Association. Devonta White led GSU with 15 points.
