BRUNSWICK, Maine - Justin Singh moved to 3-0 for the weekend and the Drexel men's squash team earned its first victory of the spring on Saturday afternoon as they defeated MIT in the Maine Round Robin, 5-4. The Dragons had also fallen to Bowdoin, 8-1, and Colby 7-2. Later on Saturtday, Singh would get the Dragons' only point as they fell to top-20 Bates, 8-1.

He and Singh, who won 8-11, 11-2, 11-6, 11-3, helped bookend the match for the Dragons. Drexel's bottom three players, Nakul Jain, Robert Steidle and Kevin Sacherman, all won in straight sets.
Singh had also registered individual victories in the first two matches of the Round Robin, both coming at the top spot on the Dragons' ladder. Against Bowdoin in the opener Friday night, Singh gutted out an 11-9, 11-9, 11-13, 11-6 win over Stephan Danyluk for Drexel's only point. Then on Saturday morning against Colby, Singh cruised to an 11-9, 11-7, 11-4 victory over Harry Smith.

Drexel fell 8-1, but Singh continued to impress at the top of the ladder, defeating Robert Burns, 2-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-5. Overall, although the squad could not muster any other individual points, the coaching staff quantified the Bates match as "our best squash of the weekend." Ben Bevan took his match to five sets before falling, 9-11, 11-4, 11-7, 8-11, 11-7. Sacherman also extended his match to the limit, dropping it ultimately 10-12, 3-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-9 after building a two-game lead.
