Frantz Massenat Named CAA Co-Player of the Week

Philadelphia – Drexel sophomore Frantz Massenat has been named this week's Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week. The 6-foot-4 point guard led the Dragons to three straight CAA victories last week.
Massenat, a native of Ewing, N.J., averaged 14.3 points and 5.7 assists in the three Drexel wins. He shot 54.2% from the floor, including 6-of-11 from 3-point range (.545). Massenat was also 11-for-11 at the free throw line. He had 17 assists and only six turnovers in the three games. In the team's win against Delaware on Saturday, Massenat scored 19 points on only seven shots. He was 5-for-7 from the field (1-for-2 from deep) and was perfect in eight free throw attempts. Massenat had five assists without committing a turnover in playing the entire game.
Massenat leads the team with 12.5 points and 4.1 assists per game. He is also the CAA's leaders in three-point percentage, making just under 48 percent of his long-range attempts. He is third in the CAA in assists and second in assist-turnover ratio. He shared the award this week with George Mason's Ryan Pearson.
The Dragons are now 17-5 on the season and 9-2 in the CAA, tied for second place just one game behind George Mason. They are back in action on Wednesday against Northeastern in Boston.
