Women's Eight Takes 29th at Head of the Charles Regatta

Boston, Mass. – Drexel University's men's varsity eight finished fourth overall moving up eight places from last year's performance for the best finish in program history for the Dragons, while the women also had a solid finish placing 29th out of a competitive field of 40 entries at the renowned 2012 Head of the Charles Regatta.
The women's varsity eight finished 29th out of 40 boats with a time of 18:02.926 just behind Rhode Island. Virginia clocked in the first-place time of 16:35.163 followed by Radcliffe at 17:06.152. Kerry Walsh coxed the Marlene Buckley II boat along with stroke Julia Jackson, Elizabeth Campanella, Olivia Babiec, Samantha Cowan, Amanda O'Malley, Mallory Sykes, Mollie Cusack and bow Colleen Delaney past Navy, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Connecticut, Princeton, Thames Rowing Club, Massachusetts, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Villanova and Lehigh.
The men's varsity eight showed speed on the Charles River earning fourth place overall out of 37 entries with a time of 15:57.988. Virginia stopped the clock first at 15:44.199 followed by Michigan in second with a time of 15:48.685 and Grand Valley State in third at 15:51.783. The Louis Krall boat consisted of coxswain Victoria Kenion, stroke Dean Hill, Paul Wisniowski, Sebastian Ryan, Vanja Busic, Michael Faust, Lorenzo Albala, Grigorios Papadourakis and bow Hartman Byers.
Drexel place ahead of Williams College, Buckell, McGill, Wesleyan, Hobart & William Smith, Boston, Trinity, Mercyhurst, Middlebury, Williams, Ithaca, Minnesota, Marist, Bates, California- Santa Barbara, Saint Joseph's, Delaware, La Sale, U.S Military Academy, Colby, Villanova, Massachusetts, Notre Dame, Connecticut and Georgia Tech.
