Dragons Host JMU on Senior Night Wednesday

Philadelphia - Drexel senior Samme Givens makes his final Daskalakis Athletic Center appearance on Senior Night Wednesday against James Madison. Givens and his teammates are looking for their 16th straight win in a game that can be seen live on ESPNU at 7 p.m. Drexel enters the contest with a 23-5 overall record and a 14-2 mark in Colonial Athletic Association play.
Drexel extended its winning streak to 15 games on Saturday with a convincing 69-49 win at Cleveland State in front of a live ESPNU audience as part of Sears Bracketbusters. Damion Lee poured in 18 points to lead Drexel and his performance earned him CAA Co-Rookie of the Week. It was the fourth time Lee has won the award. Givens grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds in the game. He enters Wednesday's game with 992 career rebounds. If Givens can snare eight more rebounds, he will become just the third Dragon and 22nd player in City Six history to reach both 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
James Madison fell to Detroit on Saturday, 82-70. A.J. Davis poured in 26 points to lead the Dukes. Andrey Semenov chipped in with 14 points, while Gene Swindle added 10 points. Davis leads the club in scoring with 16.7 points and averages 4.9 rebounds per contest. The Dukes are 4-12 in the CAA and 11-18 overall.
Wednesday night will also be Fan Appreciation Night. Tickets are just $8 for adults. In addition, faculty and staff are only $4 if purchased in advance by calling or visiting the ticket office in the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
