
Drexel Crew Wins Five Events against Villanova and Franklin & Marshall

Philadelphia – Drexel Crew had another successful outing on the Schuylkill River as the Dragons earned first place in five of six events. The women's team won all three races against Villanova, while the men posted two top times against the Wildcats and Franklin & Marshall.
The women's freshmen eight boat earned first place with a time of 7:13.3 over Villanova in the opening race of the day. Catherine Hamilton coxed the John A. Daskalakis boat with stroke Meredith Bracken, Emily Gartland, Olivia Babiec, Bridget Pfeifer, Amanda Kleuser, Barbara McKenna, Jayme Batcher and bow Elise Levito.
The women's varsity four 'A', in the Sandra Lee Sheller boat, clocked in at 7:58.9 for first place. Coxswain Alex Paulin, stroke Brooke Wertan, Kathy Cheng, Amanda Dargay and bow Elise Panacek finished ahead of Villanova and the women's varsity four 'B' boat respectively.
The women's varsity 'A' shell captured the Dragons' third top finish. Alex Paulin coxed the Marlene Buckley boat across the finish line first with a time of 6:51.44 along with stroke Sierra Baca, Emily Coyle, Julia Jackson, Elizabeth Bratton, Juliana DeMarici, Samantha Cowan, Mollie Cusack and bow Elizabeth Daugherty.
On the men's side, the freshmen eight event boat tabbed first place with a time of 6:12.5 over the Villanova Wildcats. Victoria Kenion coxed the Vince Vidas boat in lane three with stroke Dean Hill, Brian McCabe, Hartman Byers, Cameron Staines, James Byrne, Casimir Czworkowski, Grigorios Papadourakis and bow Christian Ladd.
The men's varsity eight 'A' boat finished first with a time of 6:04.2. The boat featured coxswain Randall Lee, stroke Aleksandar Radovic, Lorenzo Albala, Sebastian Ryan, Milos Rujevic, Kurt Linton, Vanja Busic, Timothy Drake and bow Paul Wisniowski. The men's varsity eight 'B' shell placed second. Marc Smith coxed the Annette Pennoni boat with stroke John Pieper, Pete Eyrich, Martin Khait, Brian Timlin, Kevin Rorabaugh, Ryan Mallgrave, Filip Topalovic and bow Will Masters ahead of the Wildcats and Franklin & Marshall.
Drexel Crew is set to compete in the Murphy Cup on Saturday, March 24.
