Women's Tennis Cruises to 7-0 Victory Over Wagner

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel women's tennis team took care of business over the weekend, sweeping their match with Wagner at the Drexel Armory, 7-0. The Dragons dropped just four games in singles play after sweeping the three doubles matches to earn the shutout.
The Dragons clinched the doubles point with victories at the bottom two spots, as Elise Leizerovich and Marcela Rosales won 8-1 at No. 2, while Alex Bell and Nicole Pivonka matched that output at No. 3. In the top spot, Sonja Stosic and Zeynep Mafa worked their way through an 8-3 victory.
Drexel made short work of the Seahawks in singles play, where Stosic, Mafa, and Pivonka each won by perfect 6-0, 6-0 counts to clinch the overall match. Every player had at least one 6-0 set score, as Rosales won at No. 3, 6-0, 6-2, Leizerovich won at No. 4, 6-1, 6-0 and Bell won at No. 5 by the same score, 6-1, 6-0.
The Dragons host Towson in a CAA match next, battling the Tigers on March 10 at the Armory at 2:00 p.m.
