Former Drexel Rowing Coach Joseph F. Greipp Passes Away

Philadelphia - Joseph F. Greipp, a former varsity rowing coach at Drexel University, passed away on April 14. Mr. Greipp was a long time language educator and rowing coach at Saint Joseph's Prep and Drexel University as well as a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Greipp was a member of Vesper Boat Club's Senior Elite Men's Rowing Team from 1956-1962. He captured a gold medal in the men's varsity eight race at the 1955 Pan American Games. Mr Greipp went on to coach at his alma mater at Saint Joseph's University from 1962-64. In 1984, he coached the first official United States team at the International Dragon Boat competition in Hong Kong. The boat finished with a silver medal out of 30 participants.
The viewing and visitation will take place at 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening and 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Moorestown Memorial Home, 334 Chester Ave. (corner of Central Avenue), Moorestown, N.J. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 W. Main St., Moorestown, N.J.
