
Drexel Crew Grabs Four Top Times Against Williams and Temple

Philadelphia – Drexel Crew won four of seven races on Saturday, March 31 against Division III powerhouse Williams and city-rival Temple on the home waters of the Schuylkill River. The women's team won two of four races, while the men recorded first place in two of three events.
The women's freshmen eight boat clocked in a top time of 7:06.8 followed by the six-time defending NCAA Division III Champions Williams and Temple respectively. The John A. Daskalakis boat featured coxswain Catherine Hamilton, stroke Meredith Bracken, Emily Gartland, Olivia Babiec, Bridget Pfeifer, Amanda Kleuser, Barbara McKenna, Jayme Batcher and bow Elise Levito.
The women's four boat, in the Sandra Lee Sheller boat, crossed the finish line first at 7:51.3 ahead of Temple and Williams. The boat included coxswain Kerry Walsh, stroke Jillian Skovran, Elise Panacek, Amanda Dargay and bow Kathy Cheng.
On the men's side, the second varsity eight book took first place with a time of 6:02.1 against Williams. The winning Vince Vidas boat featured coxswain Victoria Kenion, stroke Dean Hill, Brian McCabe, Hartman Byers, Cameron Staines, James Byrne, Casimir Czworkowski, Grigorios Papadourakis and bow Christian Ladd will face Williams.
The men's third varsity, in the Peggy Greenawalt boat, captured the Dragons final top time of the day with a 6:30.4. The boat included coxswain Jacquelyn Durkin, stroke Butch Eribal, Patrick McGann, David Gockley, Mahmoud Shurbaji, Nick Buyse, Jake Murphy, Andrew Weinstein and bow Matthew Ryan.
Drexel Crew will compete in the Bucknell Invitational set for Saturday, April 7 on the Susquehanna River.
