NEWARK, Del. - The Drexel men's tennis team saw its four-match winning streak halted on Saturday as they fell at Delaware, 5-2. Badr Ouabdelmoumen and Skyler Davis won singles matches for the Dragons, getting the team's only points of the day.
Drexel dropped all three doubles matches to get the day started. Dan Koehler and Paul Stauskas put up a strong fight at No. 3 doubles, but fell 8-6 as Delaware swept the doubles point.
At the top of the singles ladder, Badr Ouabdelmoumen fell behind early, dropping his first set, 2-6. He rebounded though, and continued an outstanding season at the top of the Dragons' lineup with an eventual 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 1.
Skyler Davis, playing at No. 3 singles in place of injured senior leader Bryan Nguyen, controlled his match throughout, winning 6-1, 6-2.
Other than that, however, Delaware was able to control play in singles action. Paul Stauskas had a strong match at No. 6, but ultimatley fell 2-6, 6-4, 10-3. Dan Koehler also had a quality match at No. 5 before falling, 6-3, 6-4.
Drexel has one more match remaining in its regular season. They will visit George Mason on Wednesday, taking on the Patriots in a match beginning at 2:00 p.m.
