Wrestling Falls to Rider, 26-12

Lawrenceville, N.J. – Drexel Wrestling fell to Rider, 26-12, in CAA action on Sunday afternoon. The Broncs improved to 10-6 overall and 3-2 in conference, while the Dragons fell to 7-10, 3-3.
Jacob Goodwin started out the day with a 9-7 decision to put the Dragons up 3-0, but the Broncs tied it up with a victory at 133. Senior Frank Cimato followed with a 17-2 tech fall against Rider's Rob Cigna to make it an 8-3 Drexel lead. Rider took back the lead with a pin from Curt Delia at 149 and never looked back. They took victories in 157, 165, 174, and 184 before Brandon Palik picked up an 11-2 major decision over Don McNeil to make the score 23-12. Despite the effort, the Broncs secured an overtime win at 285 to finish up the dual and secure a conference victory.
The Dragons will next return home to host Rutgers on Friday, February 15 for Senior Night. Matches are set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
