Men's Tennis Sweeps St. Peter's, 7-0

PHILADELPHIA - The men's tennis team swept St. Peter's in a home match, 7-0. The men improve their season record to 7-4.
The Dragon's won all three doubles matches as well as six singles matches, in what proved to be an impressive sweep. Teammates Badr Ouabdelmoumen and Skyler Davis began doubles in the No. 1 position and knocked off their opponent 8-6. Next, Dan Koehler and Xabier Saavedra would defeat St. Peter's No. 2 in an 8-4 decision. Jeganathan Srinivasan and teammate Daniel Hansen finished doubles off with a smooth, 8-5, victory.
In singles play, the Dragons were nothing short of outstanding as each man fought to a solid victory. Ouabdelmoumen used endurance and aggressiveness to take down St. Peter's Charley Carnera, in a three set match, going 4-6, 6-3, 6-0. In No. 2 for the Dragons, Srinivasan worked his way to a, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7, win over Marco Knezevic. Davis completed his match is two sets, 6-1, 6-2, as the Dragons won the No. 3. Next up for Drexel, Koehler became the second player to finish his match in two sets, going, 6-3, 6-3, on the day. In No. 5, Saavedra muscled his way to a three set win, 5-7, 6-2, 10-7, against Oliver Bellomi. Last for the Dragons, Alex Fioravante stepped up to defeat his opponent in a, 6-0, 6-1 decision, giving Drexel the sixth and final win of the day.
The Dragons will next take the court on Thursday, April 4 in a home match against city rival St. Joseph's, scheduled to being at 2:30 p.m.
