Squash Teams Sweep Two Matches Each on Saturday

MEN vs. BUCKNELL WOMEN vs. BUCKNELL
MEN vs. TUFTS WOMEN vs. TUFTS
PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel men's and women's squash teams went 2-0 on the day on Saturday at the Kline & Specter Squash Center, as both teams made quick work of Bucknell and Tufts for their first wins in the 2014 calendar year. Each team had wins of 9-0 and 8-1 on the day.
The women swept their first match of the day, 9-0 from unranked Bucknell. Drexel, ranked No. 14 in the nation, dropped just one set on the day as the Dragons rolled to their first victory since November 24. Mary Fung-A-Fat, playing at No. 1 for the first time this season, won 11-2, 11-3, 11-8 to cruise to victory. Playing at No. 7, Courtney Sabo had the most dominating performance of the morning, winning her point 11-2, 11-1, 11-2.
On the men's side, Drexel had a similiarly strong showing with an 8-1 victory over No. 27 Bucknell. The No. 15 Dragons won at each of the first eight spots on the ladder, with six of the eight matches being captured in straight sets. Michael Thompson and Justin Singh each had impressive performances in the top two slots on the Drexel ladder, winnint 11-6, 11-6, 11-7 and 11-5, 11-3, 11-7, respectively.
Later in the day against Tufts, the Dragons saw the men with the 9-0 whitewash while the women won, 8-1. The men dropped just one set overall in the sweep, as the women had earlier in the day against Bucknell.
Drexel will return to action on Sunday when the Dragons host Middlebury. Play will begin at 10:30 a.m.
