PHILADELPHIA – Former Drexel basketball standout Chris Fouch has signed a deal to continue his basketball career professionally with BK Iskra Svit in the Slovakian Basketball League.
The 6-foot-2 shooting guard finished his career with the Dragons fifth on the school's career scoring list, totaling 1,744 points. Fouch, a prolific three-point shooter, knocked down 275 shots from deep in his career, which is good for fourth in Drexel history.
Last season as a senior, Fouch led head coach Bruiser Flint's team with 18.3 points per game and 72 three-point baskets made while starting in all 30 of the team's games. It was the only time he had started every game in a season, known for his scoring prowess and energy off the bench his first three seasons.
Fouch is the fourth player from Drexel's 2013-14 graduating class to sign a contract to play professionally overseas. Frantz Massenat (Germany), Dartaye Ruffin (Sweden) and Goran Pantovic (Sweden) have also signed.
Fouch joins two other former NCAA Division I players on Svit in Dave Coley (Stony Brook '14) and Lakeem Jackson (South Carolina '13). Svit currently sits in fourth place in the SBL with a 7-6 record.
