Women's Soccer Falls to William and Mary in CAA Quarterfinals

Williamsburg, Va. - The Drexel women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss to William & Mary in the CAA Quarterfinals on Sunday afternoon. The Dragons finish out the 2014 season with a 7-9-3 overall record.
Madison Dunn gave the Dragons an early lead with a goal in the 12th minute. Dunn knocked down a Tribe clearance attempt and then quickly sent the ball into the lower left side of the net. Drexel held the lead for most of the first half until William & Mary evened the score with a header goal from Leci Irvin right before halftime.
The winning shot came from the Tribe in the 67th minute as Emory Camper received a pass from Nicole Baxter and sent it into the back of the net. Despite a strong effort, the Dragons were unable to overcome the deficit before time expired in regulation.
Kelsie Fye concluded a standout season with five saves against the Tribe. Drexel also recorded a team save in the 36th minute as Abbey Romano stepped in behind Fye who was pulled out of the goal and denied the shot. William & Mary's Caroline Casey also tallied five saves on the match.
Overall, the Tribe outshot the Dragons, 16-8. William & Mary moves on to face the No. 1 seeded Northeastern in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 7.
