Women's Squash Finishes Season Ranked No. 14

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Drexel women's squash team opened play at the team national championships in the Kurtz Cup on Friday, coming in as the No. 13 team in the nation. Taking on No. 12 Bates, Drexel fell 7-2 and moved into the consolation round of the bracket. In their first consolation match, the Dragons handled No. 16 Hamilton, 6-3. They finished with a 6-3 defeat at the hands of Williams, leaving the Dragons No. 14 in the nation for the 2013-14 season.
Kaitlyn and Elise Money earned the individual victories for the Dragons against Bates, who are participating in the second-division championship bracket. The Kurtz Cup features teams ranked Nos. 9 through 16 in the nation. Against Hamilton, the Dragons won six of the top seven matches on the ladder, including the top three to secure the victory.
In their final team match of the year, the Dragons went back and forth with Williams early on before slipping at the end, falling 6-3. The loss ensured Drexel a No. 14 national finish after going 1-2 on the weekend at the Kurtz Cup.
