Men's Tennis Conclude Army Invitational

The Dragons fell to Binghamton on Saturday morning, 6-1. Badr Ouabdelmoumen had the only win of the match in No. 1 position. He consistently played the right shots and used a solid baseline game to defeat his opponent, 7-6 (7-1), 7-6 (9-7). Ouabdelmoumen remains undefeated on the season with a seven win record. Other highlights from the match came from Xabier Saavedra at No. 3. He dropped the first set, 6-2, but was able to make the necessary adjustments to win the second, 3-6. Unfortunately Saavedra was unable to take the third and lost the match, 6-4.
On Saturday at 7:30 p.m. the Dragons moved onto St. Bonaventure in a match for singles competition only, and ended the night 3-3. Ouabdelmoumen, Alex Fioravante, and Daniel Hansen each won their matches in straight sets. Ouabdelmoumen and Fioravante each defeated St. Bonaventure, 6-4, 6-3, while Hansen ended with a, 7-6 (3), 6-3, victory.
On Sunday morning, the Dragons finished their St. Bonaventure match with doubles competition. Unfortunately, the team dropped each match and St. Bonaventure took the overall win, 4-3.
Later that day, the Dragons saw defeat against the U.S. Military Academy. The Black Knights took the final match of the invite, 6-1. Xabier Saavedra had the only win for Drexel, defeating his opponent 6-3, 7-5.
The men will return to action on March 1 against Howard at the Drexel Armory. The match is set to begin at 12 p.m.
