Men's and Women's Tennis Split Matches Against Delaware

NEWARK, Del. - The Drexel women fell to the Blue hens, 5-2, and move to, 13-4, overall. Their conference record is currently, 2-2. The men's tennis squad defeated Delaware in today's match, 4-3. They are now 9-8 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.
The women fought through some tough doubles competition but were unable to take the point. In singles play at No. 3 and No. 5 respectively, Nicole Pivonka and Lea Winkler had the only two wins of the day for the Dragons. Pivonka slammed down a score of, 6-1, 6-7(3), 6-3, for the victory. Winkler took her match in straight sets, going, 6-4, 6-2.
In doubles for the men, Skyler Davis and Dan Koehler took a win at No. 2 for the Dragons, 8-7 (5). Badr Ouabdelmoumen and Daniel Hansen also took their match, 8-2, giving the team the doubles point.
Singles play saw losses at No. 1 and No. 2, but then Xabier Saavedra brought it back with a, 6-3, 7-5, victory. From the there, Alex Fioravante and Dan Koehler clinched the overall win for the team by winning each of their matches, 6-4, 2-6, 6-0, and 6-4, 7-6 (4), respectively.
