Crew Wins Three in Season Opener at Rumson Boat Race

RUMSON, N.J. -- Drexel Crew opened its 2014 fall season on Saturday, Sept. 27, winning all three races at the Rumson Boat Race on the Navesink River in Rumson, N.J.

The women's varsity eight opened the season's racing with a win over Villanova in the Maria Papadakis boat.

Drexel's men's varsity eight and second varsity eight boats both raced in the same race, taking first and second place, respectively, ahead of Rutgers and Villanova. The varsity eight raced in the Joseph Greipp boat, while the second varsity eight raced in the Vince Vidas boat.

The women's second varsity eight concluded the morning's races with another win in a head-to-head matchup against Villanova. The Dragons raced in the Marlene Buckley boat.

The Dragons return to the water against Lehigh and Bucknell on Sunday, Oct. 5 on the Susquehanna River.
