Rockville, Md. - The Drexel men's golf team shot a 297 on day two of the Terrapin Invitational and finished in fourth place overall. Drexel moved up four spots after Tuesday's play in the 36-hole tournament. The tournament was originally scheduled to be 54 holes, but the first round was cancelled due to frost. The Dragons ended the competition at 602.
Individually, Drexel got solid performances out of Christopher Crawford and Michael Cook. Crawford finished with a three-over-par 147 on the 7,250-yard par 72 course. The senior tied for seventh overall and was four shots behind the individual leader. Cook, in his first year with the club, was just one shot behind Crawford and tied for 12th overall. Adam Mistretta bounced back to shoot a 73 in his final round. He had a 152 over the 36 holes.
James Madison was the overall winner with a score of 581, just five shots over par. Loyola (Md.) and the host Maryland team also finished ahead of the Dragons. Following the Dragons in the standings were Ohio, Boston College, Rutgers, Bethune-Cookman, Nebraska, Longwood and George Mason.
Drexel will be back in action this weekend as it will look for its third win of the fall. The Dragons play in the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate, hosted by Old Dominion. Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, N.C. will host the event beginning on Oct. 25.
