No. 12 Men's Squash Falls in Third Place Game of Hoehn Cup to No. 10 Cornell

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The No. 12 Drexel men's squash fell to the No. 10 Cornell Big Red in the third place game of the 2015 Hoehn Cup. The Dragons conclude the season with a 10-10 record and the Big Red finish with a 9-9 mark.
This is the second time that the Big Red has beaten the Dragons. The first match was a 7-2 loss for Drexel back on January 24.
Joey Gingold won for the third straight day in the number nine spot to get the Dragons on the board in the first round of three matches. Gingold beat Abhijit Malik in five. The Dragons lost the other two matches in the opening three. Mark Kauf lost at number six in three and Ibrahim Bakir lost to Harry Freeman in the number three spot.
Atticus Kelly got a win for Drexel at number two with a four game win over Seb Obieta-Chichizola. The freshman finished the season with an 11-8 record. Like the first round of matches, the Dragons lost the other two matches in this round. Cillian Dunne lost to Graham Dietz at number five in four games. Augie Jones of Cornell swept Sebastian Dangond to give the Big Red a 4-2 lead heading into the final three matches.
Nat Fry defeated Kevin Flannery in the seventh spot of the ladder to get the Dragons within one at 4-3. Aditya Jagtop clinched the win for Cornell with his sweep of Luke Willemse at the top of the ladder. Michael Thompson battled back from a 0-2 hole to force a game five but fell to Jordan Brail at number four.
The Dragons now turn their attention to the Individual Championships next weekend at Princeton on February 28 through March 1.
