TOWSON, Md. – Drexel Tennis' women travel to Towson Saturday, April 11 to take on the Tigers at 12 p.m. in their final road match of the season.
The Dragons will put their 14-1 record on the line in the match. With the win over Hofstra last weekend, they tied the program record for most wins in a season set in 2008-09. A win Saturday would give them their first 15-win season in program history.
Drexel beat the Pride Sunday at Vidas Courts, 6-1. The Dragons jumped out to a quick lead, taking the doubles point with wins from the duos of Clary Rodriguez Cruz and Nicole Pivonka as well as Lea Winkler and Kendra Bunch. Pivonka and Rodrigeuz Cruz each won their matches in the top half of singles, then the Dragons took the match sweeping the bottom half of the singles lineup.
Rodriguez Cruz was named the Colonial Marble and Granite Athlete of the Week by Drexel Athletics for her efforts.
Drexel will return home Sunday for Senior Day against Delaware at 2 p.m. at Vidas Courts. The Dragons will honor Pivonka, Aysenil Orhon, Badr Ouabdelmoumen, Alex Fioravante, Daniel Hansen and Dan Koehler.
