Men's Swimming and Diving Defeats Lehigh on Senior Day; Lukens Breaks Pool Record

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel men's swimming and diving team registered a 194-105 victory on Senior Day over the Lehigh Mountain Hawks on Saturday afternoon from the Drexel Pool as over 70 alumni came back to cheer on the Dragons during Homecoming Weekend.
The Dragons honored its six graduating seniors before the meet.
The Seniors in the Dual
Lukens, a senior, went on to break the pool record in the 100 fly with a time of 49.39. He finished second in the 200 fly at 1:52.69.
Brian Woo won two events, on his birthday nonetheless, including the 100 breast (59.13) and the 200 IM (1:59.72).
Fellow senior Matthew Klotz finished second in the 200 free with a lifetime best dual meet time of 1:42.93.
Joel Berryman grabbed first in the 100 free at 46.57 and second in the 50 free at 21.47.
The Rest of the Dragons
The men took first and second in the 200 medley relay to open the day. J.T. Lumpkin, Ralph Cannarozzi III, Kyle Lukens and Liam Kelly took first with a time of 1:34.56. The group of Joel Berryman, Brian Woo, Luke Hanner and Sean Swartz grabbed second at 1:35.69.
Dane Bell placed second in the 1000 free as he touched the wall at 9:52.06. Zoltan Gercsak came in third at 9:55.70.
Lumpkin took first in the 100 back with a time of 52.15. He also finished first in the 200 back at 1:55.62.
The men swept the 200 breast behind Joseph Brown (2:13.44), Gercsak (2:15.94) and Harrison Schultz (2:17.17).

The Drexel men and women will now compete in the NYC Invitational on Friday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 6 in New York.
