No. 9 Men’s Squash Defeats No. 18 Williams, Wins Fourth Straight

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The No. 9 Drexel men's squash team improved to 6-2 on the season with a dominant 9-0 victory over the No. 18 Williams Ephs in Williamstown, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to close out the 2016 portion of the schedule.

It came as the fourth-straight win for the Dragons and second-consecutive 9-0 sweep.

Five Dragons handled the Ephs in straight games in the win. From the No. 2, sophomore Omar El Atmas downed Will Means, 11-1, 11-5, 11-4 while senior Michael Thompson took down Mason Elizondo, 11-5, 11-5, 11-6.

Juniors Luke Willemse at the No. 5, Joshua Hughes at the No. 6 and and Noel Solomon at the No. 8 all also won their matches in three games. Hughes finished his victory with a 11-0 win in the third.

Sophomore Bransten Ming, freshman Lucas Rousselet, freshman Mostafa Aboul Makarim and junior Cillian Dunne each won their matches in four games to contribute to the sweep. Rousselet and Dunne each lost their first games but came back to win the next three for the victories.

The Dragons are now off from competition until the squad hosts Harvard at the Kline & Specter Squash Center in Philadelphia, Pa. on Friday, January 13.
