Men’s Swimming and Diving Grabs Win Over Georgetown; Arthur Breaks 400 IM Pool Record

RESULTS
PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's swimming and diving team defeated the Georgetown Hoyas by a final of 160-113 from the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon as the Dragons celebrated Senior Day.
In the meet, the Dragons broke two pool records including the 400-yard medley relay and the 400-yard individual medley.
To open the meet against Georgetown, Jason Arthur, Ralph Cannarozzi III, Stathis Malamas and Sean Swartz combined for a time of 3:24.93 to take down the pool mark.
Near the end of the meet, Arthur broke a pool record from 1986 previously held by Drexel's Chris Lear. Arthur edged the time by almost three seconds as he touched the wall at 4:01.51.
In total, Drexel took first place in 12 of the 16 total events on Saturday.
Arthur, Dane Bell, Ralph Cannarozzi III and Patrick Cobb each turned in two individual wins.
Anthony Musciano finished second in both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards with respective scores of 270.98 and 285.08.
Drexel travels to Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa. next Saturday, Jan. 28 for a swimming-only meet starting at noon. The Drexel divers will make a trip to State College, Pa. for a two-day diving invitational on Saturday, Jan. 28 (2 p.m.) and Sunday, Jan. 29 (11 a.m.).
