No. 15 Women’s Squash Drops Saturday Match to No. 8 Cornell

ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 15 Drexel women's squash team (3-8) fell to the No. 8 Cornell Big Red in Ithaca, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon by a final of 8-1.

The Dragons lone win came from the No. 5 position in a default fashion.

Ryan Morgan pushed her No. 1 spot match to Cornell's Michele Garceau to the limit. The junior lost the first two games but won the third and fourth. In the end, Garceau took the deciding fifth game 11-5 for a final of 11-7, 11-6, 8-11, 7-11, 11-5.

Freshman Anna Hughes lost from the No. 3 position but was the only other Dragon, along with Morgan, to play beyond the third game. Hughes lost the first game, 11-6, before taking the second, 11-9, against Cornell's Margaux Losty. Losty won the third and fourth to take the match, 11-6, 9-11, 11-4, 11-7.

The Dragons will take on No. 24 William Smith in Geneva, N.Y. on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. to close out the weekend trip in upstate New York.
